On the second day of the UCU strikes we are hosting a creative, imaginative and participatory event to discuss ‘What is a Really Open University?’.
The recent cuts in Leeds and across the country, are but the latest in a long line of attacks on education by a system which puts everything, teaching, learning, our daily lives, up for sale. Such a system makes efficiency drives such as the current cuts seen inevitable.
In order to resist these attacks we must act to transform education; we must creative alternates.
With this in mind we invite you to join us in the launch of the Really Open University. We will be asking what does an education without restraints look like and invite you to help build it.
This is our first event and as such are seeing it as our launch, we are pretty excited and hope you are too!
Meet at Leeds University Parkinson Steps, 5.30pm., 2nd March.
