We stand in solidarity with those occupying the vice-chancellors office at the University of Westminster. We need to fight the cuts facing Universities and broaden this fight to the cuts facing other social expenditure. For us, occupation is an essential tool, in both our defensive struggle against the cuts, and our struggle for social transformation. It is by spreading the logic of occupation that we will start to build a broad movement of resistance, we must follow this up with the organisation of transformation. In the spirit of spreading revolt, last night in Leeds we hosted an open meeting on ‘What is a Really Open University?’ as part of our ongoing engagement in re-creating the space not just within the University but within the City of Leeds.
